Images to Set for Your Application

Types of Images to Set for Your Application

Logo, icon and screen shots samples are the three types of images necessary when providing a mixi application. Please refer to the following for details.

Logo will be displayed on screens such as the application introduction page and user’s list of registered application. The logo should represent the characteristics of the application in order for users to be able to judge and select their desired application.

  • The image must be less than 500 Kb, in either JPEG or GIF format (not compatible to animation GIF).
  • We recommend the logo to be 100 pix x 100 pix for both mobile and PC as images will be automatically reduced by mixi.

Icon

The icon will be displayed on mixi’s HOME, in areas such as, “My Apps” and “Updates on Apps”. The icon should represent the characteristics of the application similarly to the logo, in order for users to be able to judge and select their desired application.

  • The image must be less than 500KbB, in either JPEG or GIF format (not compatible to animation GIF).
  • Image size is 16 pix ×16pix

Screen Shots

Up to three screen shot samples can be displayed on the application’s introduction page. Images need to be set accordingly for PC and mobile. Images should be of the application’s run_appli view to allow users to view the content of the application.

  • The image must be less than 500 kB, in either JPEG or GIF format (not compatible to animation GIF).
  • We recommend images to be 150pix x 120 pix for PC and 200 pix x 200 pix for mobile as images will be automatically reduced by mixi.

Help

There may be cases where the images cannot be uploaded if i.e. the image was edited using a software other than image editing software or when there is a problem with the file.
In such a case, please confirm whether the image is viewable from other software.
If you cannot upload an image, other potential causes may be the followings:

  • The file name is not half size, alphanumeric characters
⇒Uploading may fail when Japanese or unique characters are used with the file name
  • No file extension
    ⇒Please confirm the file extension
  • File extension is changed to JPEG or GIF, yet the file format is neither JPEG nor GIF
    ⇒Please confirm the file extension
